St. Patrick's Grammar School Celebrates Two Ulster Schools GAA All Stars!

The SPGS community is extremely proud of our two 2020 All Stars, Aidan Harney and Lennox Camara, who were presented with their awards by Kieran McGeeney in a ceremony in school. Aidan and Lennox were joined by their proud parents for this celebration.

Aidan Harney, SPGS Head Boy for 2020/21, and Student Council Leader, has been a consistent top performer on all school teams, and a protege of the Pearse Og club in Armagh. Also very proficient in hurling as part of the school Casement Cup team that lost the final last year, and an integral member of the school basketball team winning U16 and U19 All-Ireland titles. In Gaelic, he is always one of the first names on the team sheet and loves to attack from half back. A very accomplished ‘reader of the game’ and possesses a game sense that is beyond his years. He might be called “a natural” except for his focused attention to learn the game, and his individual preparation for training and matches. He is consistently a leader in all areas of his life and an excellent All-star choice.

Lennox Camera, from the Clan na Gael club in Lurgan, was an outstanding player during the Mc Cormick Cup campaign and the team’s run to the Mac Rory Cup semi-final. He played a variety of roles during the campaign from full back - attacking half back and midfield as the season developed. He always had a super attitude during training and played the game from the front with a quiet confidence. Always comfortable on the ball, Lennox was consistently one of the team leaders throughout the year and a worthy recipient of the All-Star at number three. Lennox is an excellent ambassador for the school off the pitch too as he volunteers as an Anti-Bullying Ambassador with Key Stage 3 classes.

Both students eptitomise the values of St.Patrick’s Grammar School and are a credit to their school, their clubs and their families.
