The students and staff of St. Patrick’s Grammar School are delighted to have a thriving Student Council to represent student views and support the school management team in strategic planning. Student Representatives are elected from the student body and provide a valuable role in liaising with all stakeholders in the school. The Student Council holds a Drop In Surgery every week and all students are welcome to call with them and have their concerns heard. Those who attend this surgery are entitled to a written or oral response from the Student Represenatives. The Student Representatives work closely with Senior Management and recently joined in an SLT meeting to discuss possible Health and Well-Being initiatives for the school community. Representatives have played an active role in establishing our Anti-Bullying Ambassador programme, tackling the issue of littering and supporting our Eco Club.
The Student Representatives for 2020 are James Toner, Dara McElmeel, Conor Callaghan, Eironas Zelenkovas, Christopher Thompson, Charlie Clarke, Aidan Harney, Aidan Hegarty, Anthony Dimitrov, Callum McCreanor, Paddy Morris and John Donnelly. “These young men are a credit to our school,” said Mr Clarke, School Principal, “And their passion, enthusiasm and creativity are valued by the whole school community. It is also heartening to see our students engage in such a meaningful way with democratic processes and actively participate in the decision-making processes within the school.”
