Staff and pupils at St Patrick’s Grammar School, Armagh were delighted to learn that they had been placed among the top schools in Northern Ireland in a set of “league tables” compiled by The Irish News.
Speaking after the publication of the tables, Fr Kevin Donaghy, Headmaster of St Patrick’s commented; “While acknowledging that examination results are not the only benchmark of a well-rounded and successful school experience, it is gratifying to find that the “league table” produced in a recent edition of the Irish News shows us to be placed as the top all boys’ grammar school in Northern Ireland, based on A Level results.”
Fr Donaghy went on to praise all those who played their part in this achievement – students, parents and staff of the Armagh school. “I congratulate all who have been part of this success and I am confident that we will all continue to work together to help our students achieve their highest potential.”
“This reaffirms the fact,” continued the Headmaster, “that the overall educational experience at St Patrick’s really does produce outstanding results and that, more importantly, behind the statistics there are stories of personal triumph, determination and tenacity that epitomise our student’s attitudes and character”.
